Alright folks, we have been getting asked for YEARS how we make our open shelving; whether it’s been for our own home or one of our flip houses we have done it A LOT of times. If you’ve followed us on this journey of our “House on Main” flip, then you know this has been QUITE the transformation! We spotted this house almost TWO years ago and right away Guy knew it would be the perfect flip property for us. It wasn’t until THIS April that we finally got to put that potential to the test and watch our late night vision board come to life.

When we started refinishing our floors back in March, I knew that the entryway was going to be next on our “to do” list. Why? Because entryways (IMO) are incredibly important. 1.) They are the first things people see when they walk into your home, and 2.) they set the tone for the rest of your house as well. Is it warm? Is it inviting? What does it say about YOU?

That’s the thing with flips, you have to have a BIG VISION in the beginning but ok with letting go of some of those ideas when push comes to shove and the money just isn’t there because this issue popped up and that issue came up. It’s hard to do, but it’s so much better in the end to just roll with the punches and push yourself creatively.

It’s HERE! The new chandelier is HERE! It took me a loooooonnnnggg time to pick THIS beauty out but when I finally pulled the trigger it was such a sigh of relief.

Ceramic table lamps are all the rage right now and for good reason too. They are beautiful and act as both a statement piece and a functional accessory to any space they’re in. I have recently thrifted two old ceramic lamps and refinished them to look like one of these high end lamps I’ve shared here and I am so in love.

People often get overwhelmed when trying to figure out where and how to add texture but let me make it way easier for you. There are 4 different (and super easy) ways that I like to add texture to my spaces.

I wanted to add a vintage gallery wall to my house but I couldn’t figure out where until we redid our hardwood floors and stairs and suddenly it was like the heavens opened and I saw the perfect opportunity!

I’ve been wanting some vintage bistro chairs for a while now and while you can find them relatively inexpensive, I’ve really been challenging myself lately to be super creative when it comes to this challenge and see just how cheap I can buy things! So….I searched the good ol’ Facebook marketplace for a couple weeks and saw these old bistro chairs come up for sale for $10 a pop! I was like OK! I can do that!

I have been wanting to move the table to this part of the room for the longest time because it just MAKES SENSE to use this window bench. And bonus it gives us a large open space here in the center of the dining room that for so long was crowded with this table and chairs. However, so many people have since asked…but what about the chandelier in the middle of the room?

The whole goal with this space is to simplify and declutter! Like I mentioned last week, we want this space to move from more farmhouse to mid-century modern with a vintage spin. And while I truly loved the look at design of what you saw in week 1, it truly wasn’t functional for our family

This is our first time participating in the One Room Challenge and we could not be more excited! We are featuring our dining room in this challenge and while it may seem “finished” to most of you, we are actually in the process of restyling our entire home and transitioning to a more simplified, mid-century modern aesthetic.

Here we flip again! Let me clear the air and say, I know this place looks like a dump…I get it. It totally does. But since we started looking at the property a year ago we saw the enormous potential in its amazing architecture and character and knew this was a house we could bring back to life again. This house is located in one of the best towns of Central Illinois, in the heart of downtown, just yards away from a local brewery and coffee shop. It truly could not have a better location.
