We were originally planning to paint the brick white and the wood trim a slate blue. But for multiple reasons, one being our total cost into the project so far, and the other being, the overall aesthetic of the neighborhood, we ultimately decided to go in a different direction.

Everything we used in this space were things we already had! And it’s amazing what a little creativity and rearranging can do to a space.

This past month we have slowly begun to transition our girls into a shared room, therefore revamping this space was a must! This vintage inspired design theme; combining both found and new items has helped create a space that is timeless and classic.

The story behind this big beautiful home goes a little something like this….we found out this old 1920s English Tudor in the heart of the University of Illinois’ campus with water damage that wrecked havoc on the entire main level….

In 2021 we saw this re-emergence of traditional, classic design that some people (those outside the design world) would describe as very “vintage” like; while IN the design world would be categorized as “Grandmillennial.”
