Who is Kindred Homestead?
If you’re new here, well then, WELCOME! I’m so happy you could join us here! We are Tessa & Guy Kirby, the husband and wife duo behind Kindred Homestead; Specializing in the restoration of old homes, & committed to cultivating charm in the new ones. Kindred Homestead is rooted in timeless and functional design; best known for our ability to re-envision spaces and driven by the idea that a well designed home creates feelings of endless comfort.
Just a little background info, Guy and I met at the ripe age of 19 at the University of Illinois where we were both attending at the time. We didn’t waste much time and got married just one year later and had our first child soon after that. Now, here we are, 9 years later, with 4 kids, and 1 bird. Things have gotten a little weird. Haha.
If you’ve followed us for a while then you’ve followed us through our journey of flipping and renovating homes. And through all the crazy ups and downs we have found a deep love for this wild ride of renovating homes so much that we decided to take our “show on the road” and open up our services to clients as well. We couldn’t have imagined that this is where we would ever be but we are so thrilled that we get to do something we love, together, while raising a family and helping others create the same kind of love within their own home.
Our hope and our soul desire is to redefine what home can look and feel like for you. We want your home, whether new or old, to be a representation of you. It’s not about it being “Pinterest worthy” but functional, purposeful, and timeless. And that’s the kind of design we are all about. We want your home to speak to you, to welcome you in and to invite others to do the same.
