Our New Couch | The Foundation for Pattern Play
It honestly always amazes me how a little color and pattern play make all the difference in a space. And if you guys know me, you know that I have been on a pattern drenching journey for the last several months and it has completely changed the look and feel of my home! I truly believe though, that the key to pattern drenching is having a more neutral foundation to add all those lived-in layers to. And after adding our last couch to our living room that had a bit more texture, I knew I wanted something that was a bit cleaner looking and created a good base for this space.
When searching, I knew I wanted a slipcover sofa (because kids…need I say more?) and a couple other functional yet cozy accents to add to our very lived-in living room. So when I found the Sloan sofa from Interior Define I was immediately sold. And you can read why I love this sofa and a few other of the accent pieces I picked up down below!
For the sofa we went with the Sloan Slipcovered 2 Seat Sofa in the Bisque performance classic weave fabric. We opted for the deeper 40” seat, with a single bench seat in the double down blend. I have loved this couch for not just it’s functionality (having a slipcover is a game changer, don’t try to come at me on this) but also for it’s sleek yet traditional curves and comfort! I feel like I am laying on a twin size mattress, that’s how deep this couch is!
For the larger ottoman, we went with the Maxwell Ottoman by Apartment Therapy in the fabric denim performance hunt stripe. We chose the tapered turned legs in the oiled walnut finish. And we did the 54” size which has been perfect for our living room space. This ottoman easily doubles as a foot rest and coffee table because of its size. It’s subtle striped fabric layers so perfectly on top of our floral rug and creates the perfect contrast to the white couch.
For the two drum ottomans which came from The Inside (a sister company of Interior Define), we decided to go more feminine in our fabric selection; Opting for the Tawny LA Vendee print. You guys know me…I needed more floral pattern to layer in here! And I absolutely love how it plays so nicely with the rest of the patterns in this space, especially our floral curtains! Not to mention, they are so versatile! Acting as both a foot rest and seat when we have a lot of bodies in the room!
Working with Interior Define and The Inside to make our living room space just a bit cozier and more colorful has been a dream. They have so many different unique options for their products, whether thats a couch, an ottoman, or a bed! They allow you to customize not just your fabric but your seat depth, number of base cushions, style of legs, and so much more!
