Wisconsin Dells Family Vacation
After our kitchen renovation [HERE] Guy and I promised ourselves that we would take a "break" from all the craziness in this house and intentionally enjoy our kids, as well as, each other. Well...we didn't exactly hold true to that and to be honest it was like pulling teeth (to both of us) to plan something like this. Getting away from our work is incredibly challenging because we authentically like the grind of it all. Even though we felt exhausted from this recent renovation it seemed to take more work to plan something "relaxing" than to just jump into the next project (which we did right before this trip! Can you say BATHROOM RENOVATION??)
I feel like that doesn't even make sense but maybe someone out there will understand what I'm trying to say. However, we had a blast and are so happy to have FINALLY pulled the trigger!
Wisconsin Dells Family Vacation
Since it took us a lifetime to decide on how we were going to relax, we ended up forgoing an expensive all inclusive family vacation and settling on two fun, very low key trips. The first trip included the kids and us traveling to the Chula Vista Resort in the Wisconsin Dells to enjoy a few nights at a waterpark resort. We ended up leaving our littlest at home with family members so we could truly focus on making this family fun trip as underwhelming as possible. AKA We wanted to be able to play man-to-man defense if you know what I mean.
Quality time with these two was JUST what the doctor ordered!
It was so special to be able to sew in some one-on-one time with them while getting out of the every day chaos that comes with being at home. Rozalyn had a blast thrill seeking this week down the numerous water slides and Justus, well...let's just say he preferred to stay close to the "hot water" and squirt guns where in which he took great pleasure in pestering every other child in sight.
We are so thankful for our time with these guys and feel so blessed to be able to adventure with them...even if it's only in small doses. Our desire is to be able to expose them to the world and the adventure that it beholds and to be honest that takes us "home bodies" out of our comfort zone as well.
And if you're wondering our next trip will be a solo trip (just Guy & I) to the beaches of Mexico! We decided we needed a little get away just the two of us since we hadn't done that since our honeymoon! So stay tuned for that coming in May! I am dying to get on the beach and tan my pasty white skin!
P.S. We stayed at the Chula Vista Resort in the Wisconsin Dells and loved our experience! Great kid friendly place for a great low budget price. The beds in the hotel are not super comfortable and the food while they have many options, is nothing fancy. But if you're looking for a quick get away this could be your place!
P.S.S. This is not a sponsored or paid post :)
As always, thank you for stopping by! xoxo, Tessa
