Sourdough Focaccia
I have been on my sourdough journey for the last 4-ish months and to say that I was intimidated by the whole “sourdough experience” is an understatement! I almost gave up like 12 times in the first two weeks. But I’ve since learned that starting your sourdough journey from dehydrated sourdough (like I did) is quite a bit harder than starting using someone else’s already established starter. Sooooo….a quick piece of advice for all of you… find someone who can gift you some of their starter before buying or using dehydrated starter. Especially if you have no experience with baking with sourdough. I’m telling you…I’m saving you quite the headache here!
Anyway…I obviously soldiered on because here I am, quite the “seasoned” sourdough baker (not to be confused with an expert by ANY means)! And I finally tried my hand at Focaccia bread and man I wish I had made this sooner! It is WAY easier than making a loaf of sourdough bread and has so many amazing flavors!
Before you jump over to the recipe that I used from The Pantry Mama you’ll need to make sure you have these things:
Sourdough starter
All Purpose Unbleached Flour (or bread flour)
Water
Salt
Olive Oil
Sea Salt
Rosemary
Red Onion
And anything else you’d like to garnish with!
You can find the step-by-step recipe HERE!
I absolutely love using recipes from The Pantry Mama when I’m baking sourdough anything. She creates such great step-by-step instructions both with great descriptions and pictures!
