Flip House Update: We're Making Progress
Yay!! We're making progress at our flip house! I've had a lot of people ask about how everything is going and what our projected timeline is so I'm here to show off a few pictures and answer all the questions I have gotten so far!
Question 1: What is your timeline?
We are on an 8 week timeline. Yes, you heard that right...EIGHT weeks. So we hope to be done by the beginning of July and so far we are right on schedule!
QUESTION 2: Did you end up finding hardwood floors in the kitchen?
YES! Pictured above is the kitchen! Under 6 layers of flooring we found the original hardwood floors. They had a ton of tarpaper and nails in them. But Guy and his mom went to town and worked hard to remove the tarpaper and nails. The next step is to sand those bad boys!
QUESTION 3: Are you doing shiplap anywhere??
Actually yes! Pictured above is the main level bedroom and half bath. If you looked closely you may have seen shiplap on the ceilings of the bedroom! We are also going to be shiplapping the bathroom (which is currently bare...as you can see).
YES MORE SHIPLAP! We wanted to bring this look throughout the house to add character and consistency. The living room and dining rooms (that are cluttered with a bunch of work equipment) are basically ready for sanding and painting!
QUESTION 4: Are you keeping the clawfoot tub?
YES! The original clawfoot tub will be painted (some fantastic color) and put back in the bathroom (pictured above).
QUESTION 5: How many rooms are there in the house?
There are 4 total rooms. 1 downstairs (main level) and 3 upstairs. Pictured above are the three bedrooms above.
And that's a wrap folks....well for now anyways! There has actually been a ton of progress since these pictures were even taken. All the tile has been laid in the bathrooms and the shiplap ceilings have gone up in the kitchen. Also, a TON of work has been done outside so I'll have to cover that another time.
If you're interested in buying a house in the next few weeks in the great city of Monticello, IL this house will be on the market soon and could be all yours!! Email my hubby at guykirby@remax.net for more info!

Jumping into the winter season is hard, especially if you don’t LOVE the cold temps. However, what if I told you that learning how to properly stack your closet in the coziest of ways can make your dislike of winter slightly better?? Well, if I haven’t convinced you yet, I sure am going to try!
