DIY Vintage Dresser Makeover - Amy Howard Chalk Paint
About three years ago I received this super cute vintage dresser from my grandmother-in-love when we moved into a place of our own after getting married. I have always loved its elegance and old-fashion style but knew that I eventually wanted to give it a little facelift. Of course, that time came...NOW when I am 34 weeks pregnant and in serious nesting mode. So I thought it would be fun to do a little before and after of this super cute piece since I am now IN LOVE with how it turned out!

I love the style of this piece but was wanting to get rid of the warm yellows and golds and go for something more.......white :)
For this DIY vintage dresser makeover I chose to use One Step Paint by Amy Howard in Bauhaus Buff. If you missed my blog on how to use chalk paint you can check out my tutorial here on how to makeover old furniture with Amy Howard chalk paint.
I ended up using my paint sprayer and to be honest I got super lazy and didn't take off the handles and just sprayed right over them. But I was pleasantly surprised with how they turned out!
I did two coats of the Bauhaus Buff and when I was about to begin waxing I decided to add a subtle pop of blue (because if you know me you know blue is my favorite color to decorate with). After that I took my sanding block and gently sanded down the blue to make it more rustic looking. When I was done distressing the blue and some of the edging, I did a coat of clear soft wax and voila I was done!

I am incredibly pleased with how this piece turned out and it only took me a day to complete! Super simple and easy!
