Why We Refinished Our Floors 2 Years Later
We get asked so frequently about our floors and how we refinished them but would you believe me if I told you, this is the second time we refinished them in LESS than 2 years???? Why would anyone be that crazy you might wonder. But the answer is simple really. When we moved into this house 3 years ago, there was a HUGE mix up with the stain we chose and long story short, I went out of town with the kids while the staining was happening and when I got back I was stunned to see the WRONG color or at least the color I did NOT envision in my head when deciding what color to use. But we lived with it and made do of it. It matched the trim color which was fine but after a while allllllll the dark wood tones were just getting me down. It just felt too over powering and DARK. Here’s some before pictures so you can see what I’m talking about.

Don’t get me wrong it was beautiful but accentuating the white oak wood floors really helped to lighten up the space and give us that more updated feel that we wanted. We've since posted a video outlining HOW we refinished our floors and the method we used. And you can find that below:
