The Power of Spray Paint: 4 Ways To EASILY Transform Your Home
Social media has this amazing way of connecting people in a real and tangible way from all over the world. And recently I had the pleasure of experiencing just that! About a month ago, I "met" Shaina Tillman; a 26 year old DIY lover, like myself, who has recently begun renovating her 107 year old home with her husband, Aaron.
On today's blog, I had the pleasure of having this DIY master give us some simple and SUPER affordable tips on how to use spray paint to transform your home.
If you're like me and you get bored easily of your home decor...this is a great way for you to spruce up your space without spending an arm and a leg to do so.

After purchasing our fixer upper in the summer of 2014, we had a lot of work ahead of us to make it feel like home. Since my husband, Aaron, is currently in school for Physical Therapy we live off my income and don’t have the money to buy everything new. It’s a limitation that we have and I choose to see it as a good thing. Our limitations breed my creativity. A lot of the things in our home we have either thrifted, been gifted or spray painted. That’s what I am here to share about today--The life changing power of spray paint. It’s a real thing! I created an entire Pinterest Board about spray paint and its transformation magic.
I know this isn’t a new concept. But it’s an encouragement for you to give new life to something in your home that you may not necessarily love. Spray paint gives you options to make something look the way you want it to look in a price range you can afford. It can also be a great temporary fix to hold you over until you can buy something that you really want.
I started to make a list of all the things I have spray painted in my home and it began to get out of control. I didn’t realize how much I have actually used it and what a difference it has made in our home. For starters, there are so many things on my walls that I have spray painted: wooden letters mirrors and picture frames.
I have also spray painted furniture items like the $40 Craigslist chairs that my husband made into our foyer bench and the hardware to some of my dressers.
I have even used spray paint for a lamp shade I didn’t love.
Currently, I am debating on spray painting the light fixtures gold in our half bathroom. They are the ones that were in the house when we bought it and they are not my style and do not match the navy and gold. Be on the lookout for that update soon.
