Modern Farmhouse Gender Neutral Baby Nursery
I was supposed to post this a week ago today but ironically I had a baby that day soooo things didn’t exactly go as planned. However, I am happy to announce that our son Zion Thomas Kirby is healthy and we are home resting and healing. If you follow me over on Instagram you know that we had a bit of a traumatic birth experience and one I will be opening up about in time after I do a bit more processing.
I am super excited to share with you this space that I’ve been dreaming about since we first found out we were pregnant. I collaborated on a few of these items, as well as, purchased other things on my own (so as to be upfront with that) and will be linking as many of the items as I can below (Some of the links used on this website may be affiliate links, which means I make a small commission if you make a purchase.). All in all, I wanted this space to be one that reflected neutrality, and comfort while still reflecting affordability. I know how expensive these spaces can be and that is why I hope to share with you some of my buying secrets so you too can achieve an affordable space like this!
I hope you enjoy this space as much as I enjoyed creating it!
Modern Farmhouse Gender Neutral Baby Nursery
If you haven’t seen the transformation of this room you can see it [HERE] and again [HERE]. The board and batten that we added to the walls is my favorite thing that we could have done to this space. I knew I wanted to have a modern farmhouse gender neutral baby nursery before I began so in picking my color pallet I knew I wanted to implement a lot of natural wood with earthy tones and the stark contrast of black and subtle patterns.
The crib was really my first item that I purchased for this space so this really was the item that set the stage for everything else! I searched high and low for the “perfect” crib and so when I found this one over on Facebook Marketplace for only $20 I was sold! You can find a similar one [HERE].
Next came the chair and dresser! These two items I found with the help of Buy Buy Baby. I knew I wanted a rocker recliner or a swivel-recliner that was not only stylish but genuinely comfortable (and again it had to be neutral), so when I found this Davinci Ruby Recliner in cream [HERE] I knew it would fit perfectly! Not to mention it is incredibly comfortable and affordable! *This chair also comes in dark gray and light gray.
After I had decided upon the chair, I began my search for a dresser. I wanted to something that matched the crib stylistically but also became an statement piece for some of the other accents in the room. Which is why I chose black! This DaVinci Jenny Lind 3-Drawer Dresser [HERE] is the perfect piece to accent the black barn hardware and curtain rod; while giving the space a bit of a masculine finish. *This dresser also comes in white or cream.
I knew I wanted this space to accommodate not only mother and baby comfortably but I wanted to ensure that it hosted the realistic essentials of a newborn, that is why I teamed up with both Plum & Sparrow and Baby Eco Trends to include in this space a Moses basket and stand.
The Wheatgrass African Moses Basket from Plum & Sparrow and the Bassinet Rocking Stand from Baby Eco Trends have literally been one of the best decisions I could have made! Honestly, I’ve had my son Zion for only a week now and this is my go to product! He sleeps every night in his basket and spends most of his naps in their too! It’s timeless, functional, and so easy to transport around the house. Everyone needs to get these two items if expecting a new baby!
A couple other items worth mentioning:
My dark green baby wrap from Boba [HERE] hanging on the crib.
This modern tribal patterned rug I bought from Home Goods but you can find a similar one [HERE].
This faux fur rug I also bought from Home Goods but you can find a similar one [HERE].
My faux fig leaf tree is a QVC purchase but you can find a similar one [HERE].
This wooden round mirror [HERE].
Black Wire Floating Shelves [HERE].
Wood Framed Signs [HERE].
Wooden Mobile [HERE].
If you have any questions about product sources or anything else please feel free to let me know! And thank you so much for stopping by my little corner of the internet, I am so honored you came! xoxo, Tessa
