What Happens Next? | Life Lately
I feel I’ve been putting this off for quite sometime now; trying to navigate this last season has been messy, confusing, and something that feels a bit like a “free fall.” So to try to put it all into words like a “neatly wrapped bow” is somewhat lost on me. To put all your minds at rest right off the bat though….I will say, nothing significant has happened to our family in the way of relationship, health, or any other crazy narrative you may be concocting in your head right now. In a matter of speaking, our life and the ongoings of our business have seemed very normal….to some, successful.
But if you’re reading this, my guess is you're an adult and as such you know that “normal” is a relative term and “success” isn’t exactly measurable. So I’ll just get right to it then…after much prayer, counsel, and consideration, Guy and I have decided to scale back our business and restructure it in a way that fits the season of life we are in. While unclear of what that might look like in full, the thing that will be changing the most is our design services.
For the last 3 years we have acted as a full-service design studio, while maintaining and renovating multiple properties on our own, and creating content for our online platforms. And although all these things have been dreams fulfilled for us, they are not sustainable to the season of life we are in as a family. We have been feeling this shift for quite sometime now and while it feels as though we are “giving up” on a major opportunity to continue growing what we have created, we know that God has some really great plans for what comes next! They’re just aren’t things we are able to share just yet! :)
So What Does Come Next???
We will be finishing out our current projects here but will no longer be taking on any additional projects indefinitely. We are unsure of the direction Kindred Homestead will take but we will most likely continue to maintain our work within the home atmosphere, it just might look a little different.
While we navigate all of this, and continue to press into prayer and community, we are just asking the Lord for clarity and revelation of how He wants to use us. We don't have it figured out, but we are just feeling called to live in a season of absolute FAITH. Which is insanely scary, and so unpredictable. However, we know that no matter what happens, He is a God who sustains and who provides.
We will continue to stay active on Instagram and our blog so you can continue to stay connected with us that way.
Thank you so much for allowing me to process this all with you and coming alongside us on this roller coaster of a journey! I hope to be able to share more as we continue to press into all the unknown! Scroll down to view some of the latest blog articles and shop some of our home items!
It only took 2 years of nagging to FINALLY convince my husband to build me an art deco inspired TV frame! So I wanted to share with all of you how he did it!
